We have been in El Paso since June of '07 and generally like being here. We find the people to be friendly, most items available for purchase, prices on the high side, the landscape beautiful, sunsets remarkable, but have heard and read that this area has a very high incidence of diabetes. One of the things I do not understand is how obviously unavailable sugarfree baked goods are at the local food marts like Albertsons, Wal*Marts, Neighborhood Wal*Marts, etc. ....one of the things we enjoy about El Paso is the wide variety of Mexican food so when we look for fresh baked sweet items we look for sugarfree and they seem to be nonexistant. If you know of some bakery somewhere in town that bakes a variety of sugarfree items such as cakes, rolls, brownies, etc. slip me a message and make my day. Thank goodness we dont have diabetes, we just like to enjoy sweets that are a little healthier.
